PEBBLE PLANT (Lithops salicola)

 

 

PEBBLE PLANT എന്ന പേരിൽ അറിയപ്പെടുന്ന ഈ മരുസസ്യം നമീബിയയിലെയും ദക്ഷിണാഫ്രിക്കയിലെയും വരണ്ട പ്രദേശങ്ങളിൽ കാണപ്പെടുന്നു. നമ്മുടെ പല നഴ്സറികളിലും ഇപ്പോൾ ഇവ കിട്ടുന്നുണ്ട്

1. Lithops Salicola is a perennial plant in the family Aizoaceae,often called living stones, because of its remarkable resemblance to round grey pebbles.

2. This species can be found in Namibia and South Africa at an altitude of 1,000-1350 metres.

3. It is generally found in well-drained soil or in rock srevices.

5. It is commonly used as a houseplant or for landscaping and requires extremely well-drained soil.

6. In the United Kingdom it has gained the Royal Horticultural Society’s Award Of Garden Merit.
